evolution is "just a theory"

I have a hard time with an educated person (assuming someone with "Dr" before their name has gone to school) believing that evolution is "just a theory". It's a theory in the same way gravity is a theory! The only question about it is if evolution was brought about by natural selection alone, or if there are other factors involved. Evolution is fact, even if the religious folks would rather be blind and ignorant to it, that doesn't change it.

Theres a lot of things that have been declared facts, believed by millions, and turned out not to be true. Facts are hard to come by when your AlwaysSkeptical

 There's present day evidence of evolution per microorganisms. Like when the bird flu evolved and jumped to humans, or HIV from a primate species to humans, for example. Or how the common flu virus is developing it's own resistances to vaccines, or bacteria to antibiotics. They evolve by adapting to their environment, or they die. Evolution is clearly fact.
